Objectives and priority themes of Open Innovation for France Télévisions in 2021

Within the context of the acceleration of media transformation due to Covid-19 crisis, France Télévisions structures its Open Innovation activity to capitalize on a rich innovation ecosystem at regional, national and international scales.

    A necessary Open innovation move for the group

    For France Télévisions, The Open innovation is the possibility to open up its innovation and research and development thinking process to all group employees and its external partners.

    With the current sanitary context, the in-depth mutation of usages (digitization and non-linearisation of media consumption) and the increase of competitive intensity: it’s the opportunity to create bonds and continue the group modernisation.

    In this context, the Open innovation program aims at leveraging a network of actors or internal and external partners to detect, experiment and accelerate innovation at France Télévisions

    Our collaboration axes in Open innovation

    In order to reach this vision, the programs collaborate with the group on 4 primary axes:

    1.    Answer to business needs with innovative solutions to resolve operational challenges met by France Télévisions teams

    2.    Offer disruptive solutions to create new sources of value and invent tomorrow’s France Télévisions activity

    3.    Engage and acculturate group employees in order to continue the necessary cultural transformation to face usage modernisation

    4.    Showcase France Télévisions open innovation activity internally and externally at regional, national and international levels to position the group as an ecosystem leader

    Our 12 main thematics

    In order to influence the innovation search activity, the Open innovation team has identified and selected a list of primary thematics for the group. This selection comes from market analyses as well as internal group direction surveys.

    12 thematics gathered in 3 main axes:

    ●     Technologyto use and master new technologies in order to answer to group challenges: artificial intelligence, blockchain, new formats, video

    ●     Society, innovation to achieve new society challenges: green, inclusion, accessibility and local

    ●     Usages, new solutions apply to media business needs: user engagement, Adtech, capture and edition and new regulations
