Tour de France 2019 : hold the controllers

Open Innovation
Published on July 12, 2019

Tour de France 2019: france.tv offers you the possibility to manage and create your own images of your Tour. Thanks to a simple switch, follow the riders from the angle that interests you.

New technology for new functionality

A small start-up is behind this new possibility: Omnilive. Initially, the innovative idea was to improve the e-learning learning experience. With four screens available connected to four simultaneous and synchronised cameras, each student can watch his or her course as he or she wishes as soon as the video is online. The student can change their point of view at their own pace and according to their level of learning, both live and recorded. Depending on the subject studied, the point of view may change and focus on the different elements presented: slides, computer screen, cameras or data-visualisation tools. Therefore, several universities have equipped themselves with this tool, such as MIT, Pierre and Marie Curie University, the University of Paris-Est Créteil or the University of Paris-Sud.

Make your live

This innovation will make you feel the race in the heart of the Tour, in immersion. It completes an important and varied feature that you can find on FTV Sport. It will immerse you in a complete visual experience, as close as possible to the riders.
