Paris, November 2028, story of a day in the future
"The day is not yet dawn. The sky is heavy and low but it is time to start this day.
My name is Rachael Lang... Yes, you guessed it, my parents were movie lovers and loved science fiction.
Away from the dark sky and paved with clouds, I woke up gently thanks to my domestic hub 5G HUAWEI which embarked Amazon Echo. Like every morning, it launched my favorite playlist of the moment and then the live of Franceinfo. Here I am full of joy and informed, ready to have breakfast.
Fruit juices and vitaminized proteins: there is not much left in my SAMSUNG connected fridge. I took the opportunity to look at some of Julie Andrieu's recipes on the screen integrated in her door and I prepared the order of my groceries that I will send later from my foldable cell phone. Cooking remains for me a real creative pleasure even if it seems old-fashioned.
My schedule on the fridge reminds me that tomorrow I have an appointment with my spouse's race car driver, Max. While he will take part in a real race on the circuit of Le Mans in his car connected in 5G, a PARISS Electric, I will be myself live, fighting on my console, to win the same race but from my apartment. I am always amazed by what 5G now allows us: I can watch movies on my 8K SAMSUNG screen, or even participate in races broadcast by France tv Sport by registering for synchronous competitions. Moreover, today in 2028, no more need for upscale, the images are shot directly in 8K. Ten years ago, it was still Artificial Intelligence that improved HD images (which have a definition 16 times lower) to 33 million pixels of 8K.
As a sports fan, sometimes I also take my GEAR VR helmet, I have seen some very nice things that INTEL has done. Intel processors allow today to play in native 8K, their processor with its 8 cores for the 8k and the Nvidia graphics card works wonderfully. But what bluffs me the most is what the American giant knows how to do in 4D video in its American studios. With my headphones I am in the heart of a movie in less time than it takes to say it.
I still remember the first broadcasts of France tv in 8K. I think it was in 2018, when they tested for the first time with NOKIA the 8K broadcast via 5G. Not only is 5G a very powerful network, it's also interesting in terms of energy: you only need one network to broadcast France tv programs everywhere. Via NOKIA's transmitters, some of which are installed in street furniture, or via small domestic repeaters as HUAWEI can also offer, the whole city is now connected... or almost!

I am now leaving in my autonomous city car, a PARISS electric convertible, in which I feel totally safe. Sometimes it is even my dog Laika who takes the wheel. My trip lasts an hour and I take advantage of the time saved to learn about the latest ecological news. My LIA voice assistant helps me to choose the program to be shown on the on-board screen: a documentary on the newest high-tech products and their impact on the environment, which I watch while this splendid little marvel leads me to my destination. It explains to me that I can make my own energy at home by recycling the battery of my electric car. It also talks about a new and apparently inexhaustible energy invented in 2018 in France by Marc Robert of Paris Diderot University. He succeeded in making energy by mixing a magical molecule close to iron with CO2 which, with the force of the sun, produces methane gas. An almost inexhaustible cycle. Thanks to these inventions, our digital life, which is so polluting, will become a little healthier.
My work as a historian has also been greatly influenced by these new technologies: With my HOLOLENS helmet, I can visit ancient monuments as if I were there. With the services of the city of Paris, VIZUA has, for example, partnered with ICONEM, the French champion of photogrammetry, to admire in 3D the most beautiful buildings of the capital, enough to request the ORANGE Cloud servers to calculate this show. A discovery of Paris in augmented reality where you will see what this city looked like in other times and with buildings that have now disappeared. No more static models like in a museum, but a total and lively in-situ discovery. I bet that you too will find it bluffing!
Tonight, when I come back home, I have to think about taking a subscription to the new internet connection service available via nanosatellite. It's quite practical: I'll be able to receive France TV even when I'm on a boat on the Pacific Ocean. It seems that the equipment of the French start-up EXOTRAIL does wonders to motorize all these small satellites no bigger than a shoe box.
There are still many things to discover! Don't hesitate and come back next year, I will surely have some new objects to make you admire!"
