A Project Where Innovation and Technology Converge
The developed solution provides features that revolutionize the way directors approach their projects. It allows professionals to directly visualize on their mobile phones the renderings of scenes to be filmed. Furthermore, the solution offers complete immersion by allowing users to virtually move within the scenes and precisely control the composition and staging. Additionally, directors can capture images to anticipate viewing angles and adjust their preparations.

This innovation relies on Gaussian Splatting, a cutting-edge technology that generates 3D content from images captured from different angles. This process allows objects to be integrated into existing environments with impressive realism, significantly simplifying pre-production work.
The solution was first presented to several directors at France TV Studio as well as during PIDS, a leading event in the special effects world, held at the end of January in Enghien-les-Bains.

This was a very interesting project to lead with students whose engineering skills impressed us. We were also pleasantly surprised by the students' ability to get so involved in such an innovative subject. The challenge was 100% met by the students. Moreover, the support from Paris Digital Lab and the Open Innovation team at France Télévisions made this project a success.

An illustration of collaborative innovation between research, universities, and companies
This project is a concrete demonstration of the value and effectiveness of partnerships developed by France Télévisions’ Open Innovation with research partners on innovation topics. The long-term collaboration between the Paris Digital Lab and France Télévisions, facilitated by the Open Innovation team, has enabled various projects to enhance the services offered to users. Among these are a prototype for eco-design on the france.tv platform, an image recognition solution inspired by a flagship program, and an image verification tool.
The project allowed us to develop our technical skills on a real-world project that will be used by professionals. It is always more stimulating for us to know that what we are doing will add real value for clients. The follow-up of the project, particularly the weekly discussions to present our progress, helped to pace the project. Additionally, being challenged every week by the teams at Les Tontons Truqueurs. Their positive feedback and desire to push further allowed us to progress in our technical skills: this was very challenging for us!

While this groundbreaking method marks a major technological advancement for the filming industry, it is also the result of a rich and inspiring collaboration. This project gave students the opportunity to confront a real challenge within a demanding professional environment, providing them with a unique chance to develop their skills and creativity. For Les Tontons Truqueurs, this initiative resulted in a truly innovative solution that directly meets their needs. Finally, France Télévisions Studio has strengthened its position as a key player and visionary in the filming industry, further consolidating its reputation for innovation in transforming the creative industries of tomorrow.
