The game

In this game, the player must solve a crime by collecting clues on the beach, guided by the hero of the series Ludovic Béguin (played by Tomer Sisley). The actor agreed to lend his voice, as well as his movements and facial expressions, which were captured and digitized to make the experience as realistic as possible.

The realism of the escape game settings was made possible by a precise mapping of the 2 hectares of Corsen beach in Brittany, carried out by Fix Studio using drones. Then, these elements were modeled in 3D for the series and adapted by the agency Chipo y Juan to integrate the game in virtual reality.

For people equipped with Meta Quest headset, this game isavailable for free download.

The VR experience at Châtelet

To accompany the launch of the series and the VR game, France Televisions organized a two-day event in early January in Paris at the Forum des Halles. This allowed people not equipped with virtual reality headsets to experience Vortex VR. Hosts, dressed in forensic suits, were on hand to welcome participants and make the experience even more immersive. Their role was to show players how to use the controllers and to help them in case of difficulties.

Questions :

⏱️ How long does the game take?

15 to 20 minutes depending on how fast you are ;)

🎥 Is it a game inspired by the series Vortex?

The escape game takes place in the universe of the series, on the beach of Corsen in Brittany: for that 2 hectares of this beach were mapped thanks to drones!

🌳 What is the environmental impact of the game?

It is an off-line experience: it therefore does not require online servers to run. Also, a Meta Quest 2 headset consumes ~30 times less power than a home computer (15W vs 500W to 700W).
